國家植物園4月18日在北京正式揭牌。此次設立的國家植物園，是在中國科學院植物研究所（南園）和北京市植物園（北園）現有條件的基礎上擴容增效整合而成，總規劃面積近600公頃。新組建的國家植物園將收集植物3萬種以上，并收藏五大洲代表性植物標本500萬份。國家植物園還將同上百個國家的植物園和專業機構建立合作關系，搭建國際綜合交流分享合作平臺。
The China National Botanical Garden was officially inaugurated in Beijing on Monday. With a planned area of 600 hectares, the national botanical garden builds upon the work of the Institute of Botany under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Botanical Garden. The national botanical garden has more than 30,000 kinds of plants and 5 million representative plant specimens from five continents. Plus, it will establish cooperative relationships with botanical gardens and institutions in hundreds of countries.

面對國際環境更趨復雜嚴峻和國內疫情頻發帶來的多重考驗，我國一季度國民經濟開局總體平穩。國家統計局4月18日發布數據，初步核算，一季度，中國國內生產總值270178億元，同比增長4.8%，比2021年四季度環比增長1.3%。一季度，全國規模以上工業增加值同比增長6.5%。一季度社會消費品零售總額108659億元，同比增長3.3%。一季度全國固定資產投資同比增長9.3%。
China's first-quarter GDP expanded 4.8 percent compared to the previous year amid pressures from a more complicated international environment and a resurgence of COVID-19 cases, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday. The country's gross domestic product reached 27.02 trillion yuan in the first quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, China's GDP grew by 1.3 percent in the first three months of the year. The country's value-added industrial output grew 6.5 percent on a yearly basis in the first quarter. Retail sales grew by 3.3 percent to 10.87 trillion yuan in the first quarter from the same period last year, and fixed-asset investment rose by 9.3 percent year-on-year in the January-March period.

據新華社報道，十三屆全國人大常委會第三十四次會議20日表決通過了新修訂的職業教育法，將于2022年5月1日起施行。其中明確，職業教育是與普通教育具有同等重要地位的教育類型。為了提升職業教育認可度，新修訂的職業教育法明確規定國家采取措施，提高技術技能人才的社會地位和待遇。新修訂的職業教育法還增加規定，國家優化教育經費支出結構，使職業教育經費投入與職業教育發展需求相適應。
Chinese lawmakers on Wednesday voted to adopt a revision to the Vocational Education Law at a session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee. The revised law will take effect on May 1. The revision stipulates that vocational education is as important as general education. To improve the recognition of vocational education, the law calls for measures to raise the social status and treatment of technical personnel. The revision orders the country to optimize the use of education expenditure to ensure the budget for the development of vocational education.
