In order to qualify as an attorney-at-law in the state of New York, you must pass the New York State Bar Exam. The New York Bar Examination consists of the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), six essay questions, and two New York Performance Tests. There is no requirement as such to take another exam in order to sit the New York Bar Examination. However, the first step is to contact the CA State Bar to begin the evaluation process, which determines education equivalency. New York Performance Test
The New York Performance Test (PT) is a three-hour skills-based exam designed to test an applicant‘s fundamental lawyering skills by applying law in a closed-universe library to a file of specific facts, usually in the form of a memorandum or letter. Themis New York Bar Review includes everything you need to master the New York PT.
