The course provides a comprehensive and in depth coverage of all the core aspects of Irish law and allows one to select further elective subjects which may be of interest. The lecturers are experienced and helpful, and for the most part are practicing lawyers which allows them not only to communicate the substantive law but also to offer insights into the reality of its operation on a day to day basis. If you are considering this course you obviously have an interest in law, and want to broaden your knowledge base, this is a course that will achieve those objectives, it will open doors to places you may not even know exist yet.
I personally have had the opportunity of working with the Irish Innocence Project which is based in GCD law faculty, this project gives you a real life experience of criminal case files, and enables selected students to work towards remedying a possible miscarriage of justice.
