當地時間14日和15日，南太平洋島國湯加的洪阿哈阿帕伊島發生火山噴發，首都努庫阿洛法觀測到海嘯。隨后多個國家均發布了海嘯預警，湯加引發全球關注。

火山噴發引發海嘯，湯加一度“失聯”

湯加首都努庫阿洛法以北約65公里處的洪阿哈阿帕伊島14日上午開始發生火山噴發，15日下午再次噴發。衛星捕捉到了湯加火山噴發的圖像。圖像顯示大量氣體裹挾煙塵形成龐大蘑菇云，在倏忽之間迅速上升穿透對流層↓

The eruptions of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano in Tonga on Friday and Saturday have a significant impact on the South Pacific island country, especially its capital Nuku'alofa.The satellite images of Xinhua's Space News Lab have captured the recent volcano eruption in Tonga's Hunga Ha'apai island.

火山噴發致使大量火山灰、氣體與水蒸氣進入高空形成巨大云團，噴發至高空20千米處。

The eruptions sent a plume of ash, gas and steam 20 kilometers into the air.

這座火山曾于2021年12月20日開始，連續噴發數日。據當地地質部門負責人表示，此次噴發的威力是上次爆發的七倍。過去數幾十年間，火山也曾數次爆發。

Taaniela Kula, head of Tonga's Geological Services, said the eruption was about seven times more powerful than the last one on Dec. 20, 2021. Over the past decades, the volcano has erupted several times.

火山14日噴發后，湯加政府部門全部關閉，湯加國家海嘯預警中心發布全國海嘯預警。火山15日再次噴發后，湯加國家海嘯預警中心再次發布海嘯預警，并呼吁民眾遠離海灘及海岸線低洼地帶。首都努庫阿洛法的主要街道都被洪水淹沒，不少建筑物被淹。湯加國內航班15日全部取消。

有專家表示：湯加海底火山此次噴發不同尋常，非常罕見。

15日傍晚時分，首都努庫阿洛法停電，與外界聯系減少。據路透社報道，截至16日，湯加的大部分電話及網絡通訊仍未恢復，超10萬居民“失聯”。湯加方面也暫時沒有給出官方傷亡報告。

Tsunami-hit Tonga remained largely uncontactable on Sunday with telephone and internet links severed. Internet and phone lines went down at about 6.40 p.m. local time on Saturday, leaving the 105,000 residents on the islands virtually uncontactable. There are no official reports of injuries or deaths in Tonga. 




多國海嘯預警，聯合國愿意隨時提供支持

火山15日噴發威力巨大，斐濟、薩摩亞、瓦努阿圖等國部分地區的海水活動異常，這些國家都緊急發布了海嘯預警。日本、澳大利亞、美國和智利等國家也相繼發布海嘯預警。
 


聯合國秘書長古特雷斯15日通過發言人發表聲明，對南太平洋島國湯加一座海底火山強烈噴發并引發海嘯深表關切。他表示，聯合國愿意隨時提供支持。

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday expressed his deep concern over the eruption and its ensuing tsunami and ashes. The United Nations offices in the Pacific are closely monitoring the situation and are on standby to provide support if requested.

17日，澳大利亞和新西蘭兩國已經派飛機評估湯加受災情況。

Australia and New Zealand sent surveillance flights on Monday to assess damage in Tonga.

據新華社報道，新西蘭奧克蘭大學教授沙恩•克羅寧16日表示，15日的火山噴發規模遠超過2021年12月20日和2022年1月13日的兩次較早噴發，含有氣體的大量新鮮巖漿從火山口噴發，沖擊波穿越數千公里。噴發還在湯加和鄰近的斐濟和薩摩亞引發海嘯。這些跡象表明，事發地火山口已蘇醒，噴發活躍期可持續數周甚至數年，尚不清楚目前是否已達噴發的峰值。持續噴發可能給氣候帶來潛在影響。

Shane Cronin, a professor of Earth Sciences at University of Auckland, New Zealand, said the eruption was one of the biggest in Tonga in the past three decades. Experts said that it is not clear whether the eruption has reached its peak, warning of the possibility of further eruptions and their potential impact on the climate.

16日，外交部發言人汪文斌就湯加火山爆發答記者問。

So far, no casualties of Chinese citizens have been reported."

外交部發言人趙立堅，在17日的例行記者會上表示：

“中方十分關注湯加火山爆發引發的災情，對災害造成嚴重損失向湯加政府和人民表示深切同情和誠摯慰問。中國紅十字會已經決定向湯方提供10萬美元緊急人道主義現匯援助。中方將根據災情和湯方需要進一步提供力所能及的幫助。我們相信湯加政府和人民一定能夠早日戰勝災害，重建美好家園。”
