▌年度國內字：治

小事治事、大事治制，推進國家治理能力現代化（the modernization of China's governance capacity）是一個系統工程，中國的制度優勢正在轉化為治理效能。

▌年度國內詞：建黨百年

the Centenary of the Communist Party of China

百年如此之長，百年如同一瞬。一百年來，中國共產黨團結帶領中國人民進行的一切奮斗、一切犧牲、一切創造，歸結起來就是一個主題：實現中華民族偉大復興（achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation）。

中國共產黨和中國人民以英勇頑強的奮斗向世界莊嚴宣告，中華民族迎來了從站起來、富起來到強起來的偉大飛躍，中華民族偉大復興進入了不可逆轉的歷史進程。

▌年度國際字：疫

pandemic

世界苦新冠疫情已經兩載（it has been two years since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic），或許“戰疫”本就不能畢其功于一役，但是新冠病毒引發的“苦疫”終有被控制的一天（there will come a day when the pandemic is contained）。

▌年度國際詞：元宇宙

metaverse

“元宇宙（metaverse）”源于小說《雪崩》的科幻概念，現指在擴展現實（extended reality，XR）、數字孿生（digital twin）、區塊鏈（blockchain）和人工智能（artificial intelligence，AI）等技術推動下形成的虛實相融的互聯網應用和社會生活形態（lifestyle that combines both the digital and physical world）。現階段，元宇宙仍是一個不斷演變、不斷發展的概念。

本次活動自11月19日啟動以來，陸續發布了年度十大流行語、十大新詞語等。
